Open Fencing and Competitive Bouting at BSF offers club members, current students, and visitors the opportunity to train, bout, and socialize. Our most experienced fencers, fencers from other area clubs, and fencers visiting from around the world routinely participate in Open Fencing. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from the best.
DAILY FLOOR FEE
Learn to Fence is for anyone interested in learning and practicing the fundamental skills of the sport of fencing.
The Daily Floor fee is for Guests or Visitors who would like to participate in Open Fencing but are not Bay State Fencer’s Club Members
The Daily Floor Fee grants Guests or Visitors access to Open Fencing or Competitive Bouting on the registered date. Open Fencing is generally offered on Monday and Wednesday from 7:30 to 9:30 pm and Competitive Bouting is generally offered on Sunday from 12:30 to 2:30 pm.
Membership in USA Fencing, FIE. or an international Federation required.
Daily Floor Fee
Footwork sessions are Coach directed and the content varies from session to session.
The Directed Footwork fee is for BSF Basic Members, Guests or Visitors who would like to participate in a particular footwork session.
This fee grants access to DIrected Footwork on the registered date. BSF Basic Members, Guests or Visitors may participate in Footwork for $15 per session. These sessions are generally offered on Monday and Wednesday from 7 to 7:30 pm
Basic BSF Club Membership or a Daily Floor Fee is required.
Membership in USA Fencing, FIE, or an international Federation required.

o Directed Footwork: Mon 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm (weekly)
- Open Fencing: Wed 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm
o Directed Footwork: Wed 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm (weekly)
- Competitive Bouting: Sun 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm
At Bay State Fencers we require all participants to be dressed in full protective fencing gear every time they participate in bouts, drills, or competitions. Any fencer not wearing full protective fencing gear will not be allowed to participate in open fencing, training sessions, or bouting.
Each coach will determine if a student needs full or partial protective attire for private lessons.

- Chest Protector (mandatory for females – optional for males)
- Knee Length Socks
- Fencing, Tennis, or Court Shoes (only to be worn on the fencing floor)
